The European clash and memories of 1979. The two clubs have a special connection, also competing in Forest's most recent continental tour in the 1995-96 Uefa Cup, but it is the continental championship 46 years ago that connects these teams, with Britain's first £1m player Trevor Francis netting the decisive goal of a largely forgettable match to clinch eternal glory for the red half of Nottingham.

It's also interesting to consider Malmö, who became the first, and to date the last Scandinavian side to reach the final under British coach Houghton.
This match is a far cry from that peak, closer perhaps to the Uefa Cup first-round tie between Forest and Malmö in 1995-96. Forest are full of confidence after beating Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield on Saturday, while Malmö haven't played officially since 9 November following the end of the Swedish league season. The general expectation is on the English side tonight.
